Mark your calendars! The City of Opelika is thrilled to invite everyone to the grand opening of Floral Park on Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 AM. This exciting event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Gary Fuller, the Opelika Parks and Recreation team, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Located at Floral and Shamrock Streets, Floral Park has undergone a complete transformation and expansion, making it the first all-inclusive, state-of-the-art park facility in Opelika. The 30-acre park is designed to welcome all members of the community, regardless of physical abilities, and is fully ADA-compliant.🌟 What You’ll Find at the New Floral Park:
All-inclusive playground with equipment accessible to children of all abilities
Splash pad for cooling off during the summer
Restroom facilities for convenience
Pavilions for shade and gatherings
A full-size multi-use athletic field for football and soccer
Smaller soccer fields for training and practice
A field house with press boxes, offices, restrooms, and concessions
Over 200 parking spaces
This $7.23 million project, designed by Seay, Seay & Litchfield and constructed by Gamble Winter LLC, is part of the city’s vision to expand and enhance underutilized spaces. The athletic fields will not only provide better facilities for local youth programs but also help attract tournaments and visitors to the area—boosting both community spirit and the local economy.

“Everything has been designed and structured to be fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act,” said Laura Leigh Chesser, Public Relations Coordinator for Opelika Parks and Recreation. “We invite everyone to come join us… it’s going to be a great day.”
